An Event Planner's Minneapolis, Minnesota Meeting and Event Planning Recommendations

Minneapolis is a fun city, and one that I’ve been to a few times. First, during the Connect conference in August of 2023, next for a walkthrough with the Client in January, and finally for the event in May of 2024. I have a few places that have stuck with me in a positive way - and not all are vendors I worked with or venues I held events in. Here are some of my recommendations if you find yourself in Minneapolis:

Caribou Coffee - Without a doubt, one of my favorite parts of visiting Minneapolis. i love their cafes, they have delicious breakfast sandwich options, and there’s always a line out the door at every location. The front desk team at our hotel and I bonded over our shared love of Caribou Coffee. Alas, no cafés on the East Coast!

Science Museum of Minnesota - (Note - technically not in Minneapolis, but worth the trip if you’re into Science!) A beautiful and interesting space that’s right on the river. Definitely make sure you go and check out the exhibits, or add them on to your event! There are so many interesting things to discover here. Lots of floor-to-ceiling windows on their second floor, which connects to the terrace.

Hell's Kitchen Minneapolis - The original Hell’s Kitchen is an employee-owned restaurant that has been on the scene for over 22 years. They are known for their amazing food (including a signature peanut butter that they ship all over the country), as well as their Bottomless Bloody Mary Brunch. I’ve been to Minneapolis 3 times, and I’ve visited every single time.

Hennepin Arts (Formerly Hennepin Theatre Trust) - We hosted an event in the space, which has historic roots in Minneapolis and the surrounding areas. They have beautiful and unique gallery spaces for a variety of events, and catering partners to supplement your event needs. Check out their programming at the link here.

My one regretful miss is that I didn’t get to visit or host an event at Paisley Park while I was there! Next time, Minneapolis.
