Recess: A Fundraising Show for Haiti

  • Warehouse on Watts 923 North Watts Street Philadelphia, PA, 19123 United States (map)

Lasserre's Own Hands, a nonprofit founded by a Philadelphia University graduate, aims to bring education to the small village of Lasserre, about 20 miles from Port Au Prince, Haiti.

Join us for a night celebrating local musicians, and Philadelphia's global impact, as we raise funds for this incredible organization. Confirmed acts include:

Dilemma (Producer/DJ/Host):

High #INRGI (enərjē) is what you get from Dan “Dilemma” Thomas whether it’s in his production, musicianship or DJing. Cultivating his craft at the legendary Sigma Sound Studios in Philadelphia, Dilemma has worked as a producer with artists like Meek Mill, Black Thought, Bizzle, Ray J, Migos, and Jazmine Sullivan on her GRAMMY-nominated project “Reality Show.” His recent work on “Man on Fire” with Def Jam artist, Earl St. Clair charted on Billboard’s Spotify Viral 50 chart. Each record brings a unique mix of energy, hard drums, and memorable melody lines.

PRLM CHLD:

PRLM CHLD is a hiphop and r&b trio based out Philadelphia consisting of Scottie Kash of Jamaican decent, the first lady Hovlaine who is also Haitian, and North Philly’s own Pride Zu.

The group's mix of hiphop and R&B as well as the sounds of the Caribbean has, at times, been compared to the Fugees--but with today’s twist. Their music covers the spectrum of honest stories of the often-marginalized urban youth and too-quickly categorized black sheep, as well as empowering anthems about claiming your greatness. Don’t forget their fun side too though, with the party vibes and their share of sexy riddim influenced dance records. Their musical style is young, yet versatile, and their energy will reach the world over. Growing up they were called ‘problems’ but now together issa PRLM! They are PRLM CHLD.

Larry E. & Mariko:

An acoustic duo based in Philadelphia, and well-known for their sets at Philly nightlife spot Assembly Rooftop Lounge!

Timothy Welbeck:

This Temple professor & rapper just dropped his first album last month!
