New Client: HopSkip
As an event planner, I’m ‘sold’ to all the time. Whether a message on LinkedIn, a cold call or a random email, I’ve learned to dodge salesy scenarios, that don’t seem to offer any real value, over the years. A few months ago, I was pleasantly surprised when I was introduced to the CEO of HopSkip, Sean Whalin. Sean and I had lunch, and he focused in on me and my career. He asked questions, took notes, and not once did he ‘hard sell’ me on anything. The ironic thing about this approach is that it made me want to learn more about what he was building. A week or two after our first meeting, I asked to be introduced to the beta version of the tech.
HopSkip is a streamlined solution that makes it easier for event planners and hotels to connect, compare, and arrange group bookings. The dual-user system offers separate benefits to event planners and hotel sales teams alike. What’s more, In a world where chatbots have replaced customer service representatives, HopSkip offers a people-powered approach, with each user being assigned a ‘booking buddy’ for the duration of their booking.
I've been consulting with the team on product development since the beta release this summer, and looking ahead to the release of a set of premium features in late 2019/early 2020. Additionally, I'll be helping to introduce the product to some of my favorite people in the industry and working on strategies for business development alongside the sales team.
